Parent and Student Commitments
Students must RSVP to confirm their attendance for each adventure in Canvas (our online learning management system). This is a required step so our team is aware of how many students are attending and can plan accordingly.
Adventures typically range in length from 2-5 hours. Students who register for an Adventures course get access to a detailed schedule in Canvas with exact times and locations. As a general rule, students are expected to stay for the duration of each adventure they attend.
To earn a passing grade and receive credit for an Adventures course, students must attend seven of the ten adventures offered each semester and complete online assignments related to the course.
(Students who join late or have other extenuating reasons for attending fewer than seven adventures must receive approval from LAU before enrolling in an Adventures course.)
Adventure courses are pass/fail. Students who pass the class will be awarded an "A" grade on their transcript, and students who fail to meet course requirements will receive an "F." Students who fail an Adventures course will not be allowed to participate in one the following semester without approval from our Executive Director.
Parents are responsible for getting students to and from each adventure.
